Botox in Mexico

Breast Augmentation in Mexico

The application of Botulinum Toxin in Mexico has a variety of applications: soften the lines of expression, correction of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating in palms and armpits), and alternative treatment in some types of migraines.

Botulinum Toxin is the purified toxin of bacteria (clostridium botulism). This purified toxin will create a temporary paralysis of the muscle. This paralysis will take up to 3 to 5 days to settle in and the result can last up to 4 to 6 months.

The typical areas for application of Botulinum Toxin for the treatment of fine lines is in the forehead, frown lines, and crows feet.  There are other areas that are not so typical, but it can be used with good results.  Some examples are the lines right next to the nose, the muscle bands of the platysma muscle in the neck, and some of the lines around the mouth (personally I would rather use fillers and resurfacing).

The treatment consists of a simple injection. The medication in the muscle and the doses will depend on the size and strength of the muscle. The procedure takes a couple of minutes and the most common complication is a small bruise (especially if patients are on their period they tend to bleed more so avoid those days). It is important to avoid areas very close to the brows because this can cause the medication to run down to the upper eyelid creating a ptosis (drooping of the upper eyelid).

The patient normally can go back to work the same day.  Botulinum Toxin can be used to reduce the amount of sweating in the palms and the armpits.  The procedure will consist of a series of injections to cover most of the area.  The patient can expect to see the results in 3 to 5 days, and the results will last up to 4 to 6 months.
